About

A technology partner that takes responsibility for the outcome.

Kisatrix is a software development consultancy. We help businesses work out what to build, then design, engineer and run it — with the care you would expect from your own senior team.

Who we are

Engineers who start with the business.

We work with startups building their first product, growing companies whose spreadsheets and off-the-shelf tools have run out of road, and established businesses modernising systems they depend on. What they have in common is software that matters to how the business runs.

Our job is to understand that business well enough to make good technical decisions on its behalf — and to be straightforward about the trade-offs. Sometimes that means building something ambitious. Sometimes it means recommending a simpler route than the one we were asked for.

Philosophy

What we believe about software.

  • Understand before building

The most expensive software is the software that solves the wrong problem. We spend time on the business before we write code.

  • Simple where possible

We choose the least complicated architecture that meets the need. Complexity is added when the product earns it, not in anticipation.

  • Honest about trade-offs

Every decision costs something — time, money, flexibility. We say what each option costs, including the option of not building.

  • Built to be handed over

Documented, tested and conventional, so your team or any competent team can own it after us.

Engineering

How we engineer.

  • Types and tests

TypeScript across the stack and automated tests where failure would hurt, so changes are safe to make.

  • Code review on everything

Every change is reviewed before it reaches your users.

  • Infrastructure as code

Environments defined in version control, reproducible and reviewable — no hand-configured servers.

  • Observability from day one

Logging, error tracking and alerts in place before launch, not after the first incident.

  • Security by default

Least-privilege access, secrets management, dependency updates and data protection designed in from the start.

  • Accessible and fast

Interfaces that meet accessibility standards and load quickly on real devices and networks.

Difference

What makes us different.

  • Consultancy, not a code shop

We will challenge a brief when it doesn’t serve the business, and recommend against custom software when an existing product would do.

  • One team, end to end

Strategy, design, engineering and infrastructure together — so nothing falls between suppliers.

  • Accountable for outcomes

We care whether the software is used and whether it works in production, not just whether a ticket is closed.

Collaboration

How we work with you.

  • Product build

You have a product or system to create and want one team accountable for it. We take a product from discovery to launch with a dedicated team — strategy, design, engineering and infrastructure — and stay on to support and evolve it.

  • Embedded engineering

You have a product team and need more senior capacity or specialist skills. Our engineers join your team, work in your tools and follow your process, with the aim of leaving your codebase and your team stronger.

  • Modernisation

An existing system is slowing the business down, but it can't simply be switched off. We map the system, stabilise it, and replace it piece by piece — keeping the business running throughout.

Where we work

UK-based, working internationally.

We are a UK company and work with clients in the UK and further afield. Our process is built for distributed collaboration — shared repositories, written decisions, regular demos and overlapping working hours agreed at the start — so distance doesn’t get in the way of the work. When it helps, we meet in person.
